You are back off Vacay! Now What???

Have you ever felt overwhelmed after returning from a dream vacation? Opening emails, snail mail, returning calls, and doing the laundry? As an American, we could potentially spend the rest of your life on vacation and still make a good living, especially if you are an entrepreneur! But the truth is, few of us actually do this. Instead, we work hard, take time off  when we can, and then return to work to tell the tales of our adventure to all.

PUERTO RICO AND ITS SPLENDOR!

ELEGANT DINING

The Olive Boutique Hotel is elegant and timeless in its décor. It is a small luxury hotel housing one of the best steak houses on the island of Puerto Rico!

SAGE STEAK LOFT

This is a favorite to many frequent travelers to Puerto Rico. This ultra-chic restaurant is in the Olive Boutique Hotel and is one of Puerto Rico’s finest restaurants.  This is a steakhouse serving up steak and fish dishes coupled with mango, papaya and guava!  The Ahi Tuna Crab Pops are to die for! The crust on top is mouthwatering.

Why go to Mykonos? The Greek Party Island!

Little Venice ! Great restaurants, clubs and nightlife! My spot every night!

Mykonos

Ahhh… Mykonos, the “party island”.  And I do mean party! But Mykonos is also known for its fabulous beaches as it’s less cliffy than Santorini.  The shopping is amazing from Designer shops like Louis Vuitton and Chanel to locals selling their wares.  There’s even a Sephora! But there is definitely a lot more to this fabulous island in Greece. What is fun about Mykonos is that there is a lot more hustle and bustle, particularly in Mykonos Town, like Old Port and Little Venice. The beaches here have soft, golden sand, but can be very crowded in July and August. And beware of the cost of chaise lounge rentals ranging from $30.00 to $80.00 USD to rent a chair!

The Windmills in Mykonos Town! Absolutely fabulous to see!

Fabulous hotel with stunning views of Aegean Sea!

It’s easier to get around Mykonos because most of the attractions are all closer to each other, such as the old port and the popular beaches. Public buses are the best way to get around costing approximate $2.00 to any destination. The buses area very nice like charter buses so they are very comfortable.  You can rent scooter and atvs if you are adventurous. I have to say that a lot of hotels near Mykonos town are situated high and require walking once the bus drops you off as buses cannot go up the narrow road leading to your fabulous hotel. I recommend taxis if you are not fit, older or too drunk or tired to walk the hill. Continue reading

The Tale of Two Islands – Santorini and Mykonos Part I

Greece was everything I had imagined. It was as beautiful as every picture I saw on Pinterest when doing my research on these wonderful islands. I have to admit that Greece is now my most favorite place to be in the world! I honestly became very aware of who I am as a woman and Santorini took me to a mind altering state which only underscored what it is I REALLY want in my life.

This is me overlooking the spectacular Caldera from my fabulous hotel, Cosmopolitan suites.

The islands of Greece are a rugged type of beauty, full of rocky cliffs, breath-taking sights, and winding roads and paths. My friend recommended visiting Crete next time, the largest island in Greece. She also mentioned that anyone visiting the island might be interested in renting a vehicle for their holiday from somewhere like rental-center-crete.com, car hire allows you to explore the island at your own pace! If you do choose to visit the Greek islands, you’ll be happy to know the people are friendly, the food is delicious, and the lifestyle on the islands is different than anything I have yet experienced. As a brown girl, I was made to feel very welcome as I suspect they know the plight of brown girls here in the USA. We are special there. We get stares admiring our beauty, our exoticness. The moment you smile back, like opening your arms, the Greeks become your best friend!

Santorini and Mykonos

So I traveled with my younger beautiful cousin to these beautiful islands to both Santorini and Mykonos, and I will state right off the cuff that the islands are distinct in many ways but equally as beautiful. They are both very different in their vibes, culture, and lifestyle.Continue reading

Visiting Venice for your Italy Vacation

If you go on a vacation in Italy it is almost necessary that you visit Venice. Everyone who has ever been to Italy has an almost classic picture of them in a “vaporetti” or a “gondola” with a canal for a backdrop. I am excited to add that in a few weeks, I will have the opportunity to visit Milan and Venice with my daughter. See my article, https://kc.milliondollarbranding.com/birthday-gift-to-milan-italy-for-my-fav-girl-my-kaiya-milan/ veniceThis famous Italian city found in the north is also sometimes known as the city of water, the city of bridges and the city of lights. Vaporetti are motorized buses used by Venetians for transportation around the city’s canals while the gondola is a Venetian boat that is now used mostly by tourists and sometimes for weddings or funerals. The city is made up of several small islands, 118 to be exact hence the need for water transportation and the many bridges.

There are 150 canals and 400 bridges. There are also several art galleries and all together these make for an exciting experience when you are on an Italy vacation. You can click here to find activities and things you may like to experience while taking a vacation in Venice.
